What To Expect

This is a series of questions that I get asked often. Please feel free to contact me if you have more questions than this.

What is the first question I should ask you?

Well once we know that my schedule is open for your wedding the very first question you should ask is if I will be the one shooting your wedding. Many photographers will book out associate photographers depending on budget, availability, etc. – make sure the person you are talking to is the person who will be at your wedding.

Do you work every weekend?

I don’t. I only take on a certain amount of weddings per month/year to ensure I am not over worked and enjoy my job the way I am suppose to. The best part for me about being a wedding photographer is the relationship I build with my clients. Taking on a limited number of weddings allows me the time to build that relationship with my brides. I want to know about the details of their day, so that when I am at their wedding I know what’s important and why. A photographer is the person who will give you those lasting moments of your wedding – build a relationship with that person as soon as possible.

I like your work – what’s next?

A phone conversion – I will likely call you once I see that you sent me an inquiry. I feel  it is as important for you to like ME as it is for you to like my work. So I will call and say Hi. See how your planning is going, what colors you are using for your wedding (remember my love for color palettes?!) and how I can help you answer any questions or concerns you have about your wedding photographer. If all goes well you may even want to give me a reason to find the nearest babysitter so we can grab a cup of coffee and discuss it more.

If I book your services how much time will you spend at my wedding?

That decision is up to you. I have packages for partial day coverage to full coverage. Full coverage usually starts when you are getting ready and end with the cake cutting.

Do you have pricing for engagement sessions?

All of my wedding packages come with an engagement session as well as the edited images on a CD for you to keep forever. I feel this session allows us to connect more before your big day. Please contact me for the details on this.

Do you do payments installments?

I do on certain packages. Please contact me for more details.

Can I receive my album from you?

Of course! I offer thick lay flat albums for my clients and they come in my highest package. You are also more than welcome to add it to your wedding package if it isn’t already included. It could be a better option to get an album from your photographer because while we all have the best of intentions of doing an album after the wedding – life tends to get in the way. Also remember parent albums, they surely want an album of your day!

Are the digital images included in your packages?

YES! I believe that every bride deserves any single edited image from her big day! You will get all the edited photos on a flash drive for you to keep forever.

Do I need a second photographer on my wedding day?

My usual answer to this is yes and here is why; you get more for your money. Having two creative eyes taking the same shoot from a different angel will give you candid moments even in your formal pictures. It also gives your main photographer the ability to focus on what they need to while the other one is rounding up the parents for group shoots, etc. If you are having a very small wedding (60 people and under) then I wouldn’t push you to get another photographer, but I don’t think that having two trained people to document your day could be a mistake. One photographer can cover a big wedding, but two photographers can cover it better.
