Sleepy girl <3 A true doll

I have been photographing Travis since he was just a week old! I adore him and I simply love that I get to continue to capture him growing into such a handsome little man.

I don’t post boudoir photos often but thought this one was too beautiful and sassy not to share.

Ok so if you know me, you know I struggle with the “what’s for dinner” question. I LOVE cooking but the thought of making all members of my family happy with one meal can be very exhausting. After expressing my struggles with dinner, as well as my successes on my facebook page often – I received a ton of requests for recipes. I get facebook messages, emails, and even texts for recipes. After a year+ of handing out the same killer, easy recipes I decided to share them with everyone and post them on my blog. So whether you are a long time friend just grabbing the recipe from my blog, a mom in a need for something different yet simple for dinner, or just a darn good meal – I am here to help. Every Thursday! I figured maybe it will also remind me what my family’s favorite meals are!

With that said I will kick off this weekly habit of mine with this amazing meatloaf recipe that I stole from allrecipes.com. You can see the true recipe here.

I know what you are thinking! Meatloaf?! Is this lady nuts?! Trust me – my husband dislikes most anything that isn’t s ribeye steak with bread and corn (because corn is a vegetable to him!), and he loves this recipe. The first time I made it he was not pleased we were having meatloaf, reminding me that he has never liked meatloaf – that I was just wasting the meat since we could have made burgers. After finding getting him to try it, he begs me to make a double recipe! My 5 year old gave me the same story – now it is her favorite dinner! Best part?! It is EASY!!!!!!!!!!

I have made some changes to my recipe and I NEVER ever use measuring spoons or cups so remember that. We also believe in our family you can never have enough garlic.

What you will need:

1.25 pounds of ground turkey (we always use one package from costco)

1/4 to 1/2 cup of milk

1 slice of bread toasted and ground in a food processor (or just regular bread crumbs)

1 egg

1 or so teaspoon of salt

1/2 teaspoon of pepper

1 tablespoon of garlic powder (we probably add more)

1/2 to 3/4 pound of cheddar, moonterey jack, colby (one or two or all three of these cheeses – whatever you have!)

1/4-1/2 cup of ketcup

1/4-1/2 cup of  regular BBQ sauce

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F

2. In bowl mix everything but the cheese, ketchup and BBQ sauce in a bowl.  Add the cheese to the meat add all other ingredients are combined.

3. Spray regular glass pyrex 8×8 pan with non-stick cooking spray. Transfer meat to pan

(I don’t use a loaf pan it makes it too dry for me – regular glass pryex pan for me.)

4. Mix the ketchup and BBQ sauce in a cup and pour on top of the meatloaf

5. Bake for 1 hour in the preheated oven to an internal temperature of 180.

This past August I did my first wedding since I had my son in 2011. They were married at Hannah Nicole Winery in Brentwood.  They are an amazing couple and I simply enjoyed myself to the fullest at their special day.

I know it can be very stressful trying to find a great photographer in the sea of talent out there. I am happy to say Ashley and Brandon had this to say about their experience with me:

Livermore East Bay Baby Photographer

I don’t know about you guys but this year has been busy and mostly with newborns for me! Last week I left California and attended a newborn baby photographer workshop. It was a blast and we got to play with 3 gorgeous newborn babies. As photographers know, it can get pretty lonely being a one (wo)man shop. Don’t get me wrong I love all my babies I get to hug and love and play with but their is something about connecting with people who have the same passion you do – it inspires you to try new things. And that is what I did and will be doing more and more this year.

Below is a few of the images I captured with one of the three newborn baby we got as a model. She is simply breath taking and who doesn’t love all that hair?!

A few updates while I have you here. The October 20th holiday mini sessions in Clayton are all booked. I do still have a few sessions left in Livermore and Brentwood in November.I suggest booking those sooner rather than later since they seem to be booking up quickly.

The newborn photography studio is coming along, slowly but surely we are making more progress! I want to express a huge thank you for all my clients who have been to the studio the past few weeks. They can vouch for me when I say it is a work in progress. I will be one happy lady once we finally replace the carpet with the new hardwood floors in here and have the studio complete! Then I can spend all that extra dough we aren’t throwing in the studio on props – lets just not express that to my husband mmmmk?!

One last huge announcement: starting September 15th I will no longer be booking mini maternity sessions without a paid newborn session. So if you want to book a maternity session without a newborn session please do so before September 15th.
